Skin’s Summer Survival Guide

There’s just something about summer that makes even the most prude skin-fanatics lose all their inhibitions and regular skincare routines. Maybe it’s the ocean air, kid’s out of school or perhaps just the bottle of Rosè. But, it’s vital that you keep your cool and remain sunscreed-ed and more during summer break. Below are few tips to fighting the sun this season from your friends at Colair Beauty Lounge & Med Spa.

Sunscreen: Yes, we’re gonna state the obvious. But sunscreen is the best, and possibly the simplest way to prevent sun damage (I.e sunspots, wrinkles, cancer, etc). Mix it with your favorite cream and reapply every few hours.

Don’t Just Spray It: Yes, those spray sunscreens work, but according to dermatologist, folks aren’t rubbing it in properly. Leaving you with streaky protection. Spray the section of your body until it glistens, and then give it a proper rub-in.

Get Shady: Sure, sunscreen is gonna do it’s thing, but why stop there? Get glamorous with a giant hat, long sleeve shirt and oversized shades to protect the skin around your eyes. Think vampire in the Hamptons, people.

Burned: So you’ve disregarded all of this and you’re looking like a lobster? The first thing you want to do is stay hydrated. UV light causes inflammation, and staying hydrated helps repair the skin barrier more quickly. Also, don’t pick any blisters and pile on the aloe.

Too Little, Too Late: Maybe you’re reading this article a few years too late and you’re seeing some spots, lines and wrinkles. We’ve got the magic for that. The sun is our skin’s biggest enemy, and through treatments like PRP Facials, Botox and some of our amazing skincare products, we can help reverse the damage that’s already done.
